Durian Lens Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 18, 2026

Durian Lens is designed around data minimization. Photo analysis runs locally on the user’s device. The developer does not use the app to collect, upload, sell, or share users’ photos, analysis results, or personal information.

Data processed by the app

Photos and camera

Durian Lens processes a photo only when you actively take one or select one through the iOS system photo picker. The app does not request ongoing access to your entire photo library. If a selected photo is stored in iCloud, the system photo picker may first download it to the device according to your Apple and iCloud settings. This process is managed by iOS.

Photos and analysis results are processed on-device and are not sent to the developer’s servers.

History, retention, and deletion

To display your history, the app stores a compressed copy of the selected photo, the analysis result, and the date in its private local storage. The history directory is explicitly excluded from iCloud and system device backups. The app keeps at most the 12 most recent eligible analysis records. When a new record exceeds that limit, the oldest record and its photo copy are automatically deleted from the app’s storage. You can also choose “Clear” on the History screen and confirm to delete all history photos and analysis results stored by the app.

Deleting the app causes iOS to remove its app container and the history data stored in it. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings.

Accounts, advertising, and tracking

Durian Lens requires no account, integrates no advertising SDK, does not use cross-app tracking, and does not build user profiles. Its core analysis does not depend on a network service.

Data the developer does not collect

The developer does not use Durian Lens to collect contact information, precise location, device identifiers, purchase history, photo content, analysis history, or usage activity.

External support service

The support link opens GitHub Issues. GitHub processes information under its own terms and privacy policy only if you choose to leave the app and submit content there. GitHub Issues is a public platform; do not post private photos, personal information, or other sensitive content.

Children’s privacy

Durian Lens does not knowingly collect personal information from any user, including children, because the app provides neither accounts nor developer-operated server data collection.

Policy updates

If the app’s data practices change materially, this page will show a revised effective date and describe the change. Unless a revised policy expressly states otherwise, the app will continue to follow local processing and data-minimization principles.
